Working with radiation is strictly regulated by laws and regulations. All workplaces must comply with the regulations, and ensure that the work is carried out accordingly. See here for an overview of laws and regulations.

There are additional safety requirements for those who work with radiation, but there are also strict requirements for storing radioactive material and handling waste from all types of radiation sources.
