General information

A general introduction tour will be given new students and employees when starting work at the department. Students and employees are encouraged to ask questions.

When working in a laboratory, one is in general exposed to various risks, such as chemicals, patient samples and infected materials. This means that work must be conducted in a responsible way in accordance with the regulations outlined in this handbook.

If any problems should arise in the laboratory they should be discussed with the closest leader, and a solution should preferably be found within the group. Problems that cannot be solved within the group should be forwarded to the head of administration and/or HSE-representative.

Areas labeled with biohazard and radioactive signs require additional caution and have stricter rules than a regular laboratory.
