The physical working environment is ensured through buildings with facilitated laboratories and workplaces, good infrastructure, ventilation and cleaning. 
The University of Bergen is constantly working to become more climate-friendly and environmentally friendly. This work is organized in an environmental management system, which is also certified as Eco- Lighthouse.
